Brief description As a music tutor, you will be proficient at teaching the piano/keyboard, and/or other instruments such as guitar (including bass guitar),violin, saxophone, drums, depending on experience and qualifications. You will be teaching beginners and intermediate students, from the age of 4 years.
Tasks Tasks include, but not limited to; 1. Managing and teaching music workshops online and face to face, which can include; a. Plan & prepare individual lessons and overall schemes of work for your pupils b. Teach individual and group lessons lasting from 30 minutes to an hour or longer c. Reconcile Lessons & email lesson/homework notes to students/parents d. Arrange lesson schedules, collect fees and enter students for examinations e. Provide reports and feedback to pupils (or their parents/carers) about their progress f. Prepare students for performances, examinations, auditions and festivals g. Manage & supervise music tutors, and music tutor assistants 2. Administrative Duties a. Managing student database to ensure accurate information is held and no redundant data b. Managing and enrolling new students c. Raising invoices and allocating payments, to ensure client accounts are upto date d. Open, sort, and distribute incoming correspondence, including post and email, promptly e. Managing telephone queries with clients and other stakeholders f. Answer phone calls and direct calls to appropriate parties or take messages; 3. Perform general office duties
Qualifications and requirements • Music Qualification and/or experience is desirable • Teaching experience is desirable • Safeguarding experience/qualification is desirable • Experience working with children & vulnerable adults • Willing to undergo training & assessment • Ability to give full attention to what other people are saying, and to actively look for ways to help people; • Ability to manage one’s own time and the time of others
